Hard Work & Growth Leads To Success. I know. I did it. More than once!

8 years ago, I walked into a new job. It was really hard at first. I started back at the bottom, after years up working my way up.

When my long term manager job, ended due to downsizing, I went low key for a little while. I wasn’t prepared to go back in the corporate world just yet. Back in to the game so to speak. I spent time looking around. Seeing what was out there.

For a while, I worked from home, for a then existing virtual assistant service. That was when I first figured out my calling. I didn’t know it then!

I spent sometime in and out of call centers, short gigs, fundraising, more sales, calls.

It was time to get back on my game. I needed a new career.

My first kid, Isabella, had just been born, I hadn’t had a full time, career based job in years. All the work I’d had were short gigs.

Each job gave me new life experiences, networking experiences, people I’m still in touch with now. They just weren’t long term.

One day, out of the blue, a friend called about their company. Offered me full time, night shift, call center work.

I had to embrace the opportunity. I needed to see where it was going, settle down once again.

I was Nervous. Excited. Positive. Ready. Scared. Convinced I’d Fail. All at once!

I arrived on day one. Picture this.

I was the only female, only one married, only one with a kid. I was the oldest in the room and I was only 32!

I embraced it well.

I worked hard. Even from that first night, I knew I had found my calling for now. I understood the companies brand, my consumers and what needed to be done. I had drive and passion, for what I was doing.

Months past, I got called into the ‘Big bosses office.’ They offered me a better position. I became the call center manager. This offer meant me continuing working nights. I accepted. I knew, I would continue working hard.

Still with a baby at home.

For those who have been there, it’s not easy going into a new job, soon after giving birth to a baby. It takes a lot of courage to restart you career at that point in your life, at 32! At any age!

Life became easier, less stressful, more exciting, as I earned a decent salary and began my next big career. Year by year, I excelled. I rediscovered me. My passions, my drive. My future goals.

I spent little time on my side projects.

The company offered me a full time, day shift, managerial position.

I welcomed it with open arms! I was building my way up.

I began to interview applicants. I built my own team. Call center agents. Administrative assistant. People who later became friends.

Working side by side with amazing people. We worked hard, we still had fun. There were many ups and many down, on the whole, mostly ups! I was treated with respect. I was growing. I received a pay rise yearly.

Most importantly, I was happy!

I had passion, missions and goals! I learnt many incredible lessons, learning experiences for the future, from my time as an agent, through my time as a manager. I treated all my colleagues the same way. I was really fair. Go asked them..!

I learnt from my colleagues and bosses too. I put my learning to good use. I produced results because of hard work. I shared my knowledge and I learnt from great people. I grew.

I left last year and I haven’t looked back.

While I grew as a person, I started to loose my passion and drive and began to get hungry for new meat. I knew my time had come and I began to pursue my dreams. I opened my own company.

Hard Work & Growth Leads To Success. I know. I did it. More than once!

I can do it. I did do it. You can do it.
